What do you do when people question your skills as a business woman?

The Beginning

My journey with BlueBird started twenty years back when I joined my father-in-law and my husband in managing the company. Back then, our distribution model was limited to traditional channels. But when I took over the reins, I observed that the popularity of shopping malls and supermarkets was rising rapidly, so we expanded to modern trade channels. Plus, our customer-first approach helped us constantly innovate and launch new products, from dessert mixes to different types of pasta. We got in touch with chefs and made products based on their feedback, made sure everything was according to the highest international standards and export quality. We also supplied custom orders tailored to different needs of every customer. As a result, the growth happened so quickly, it was difficult to keep up.

The Challenge

When we decided to set up a new factory in Surat, there were some hiccups. A lot of people questioned my ability as a woman to lead the business, but I answered all of them with just one thing, my work.

The Partnership of Success

HDFC Bank really helped me by financing the set-up of the new factory. My long relationship with them blossomed into a success story for both BlueBird and HDFC Bank as we expanded with innovative product lines and grew annually by 28 percent.

“Now as we plan to export our major products to the world, my advice to the women entrepreneurs will be to always keep going, because when it comes to what we can achieve, the sky is the limit. And of course, to choose a trusted banking partner like HDFC Bank”
